New diesel theft reported
Another farm was targeted for diesel fuel with someone stealing 2,000 gallons, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
A farm in the 7400 block of Sawgrass Road in Parrish had diesel taken between 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and 6:30 a.m. Thursday, authorities believe.
The thieves cut the padlock off the gate to get into the property. The fuel is valued at about $8,000.
Since April, there have been between 5,000 and 9,000 gallons taken from farms in east Manatee, according to sheriff’s reports.
